Memorial Weekend (Yellowstone)

For Memorial Weekend we went to visit my family in Idaho! It was soo much fun! We had a busy busy weekend! We went to Yellowstone with my fam and some friends- Jerry and Alie and their daughter Julie (and also their little bun in the oven, which I think they decided to name Jane)
--On Monday in the early afternoon we decided to go 4-wheeling and I forgot my camera, which was a shame, because it was a bunch of fun and very pretty where we went! We also were on our way back to the tahoe when we round a bend and were going to go through this little thing (sorry, I can't explain it) and there was a huge bull just laying there. We stopped because he jumped up and starting stamping his foot at us..SCARY!!! After a few minutes he went running after some girl-cow (poor thing) and we were able to continue on our way!
Here are some pics from Yellowstone:

Samantha fascinated by one of the mudpots and Jerry and Julie in the background(above)
My favorite walk in all of Yellowstone, it is so beautiful! (below)

The above 2 pictures and 1 below were taken at Yellowstone Lake, which happens to be the largest Alpine Lake in North America (an alpine lake means a lake above 5,000 ft. altitude)

Cute Alie with her baby bump(above)! And my silly almost 17 year-old brother picking up on chicks with Julie's princess umbrella

At the Falls! They were a lot wider than normal, and the river is a lot higher than normal!

Sweet little Sammie was exhausted!

Annnnd some videos from Yellowstone

Here are some videos from Yellowstone.. sorry the one with the buffalo I completely ruined because I was too busy looking at him and not the camera, but you can kinda get the idea.. basically he was getting out some aggression ripping the trees to shreds and stamping his feet.

The other video is obviously of Old Faithful. In it you will hear some commentary by me, Alie, and my dad. My dad is a way cool guy and knows almost everything. I'm not even kidding or exaggerating, he just kind of absorbs information and remembers it. And he knows even more about the outdoors- in YW and achievement days, he was ALWAYS the one they called to take us on hikes and tell us the names of all the plants and birds and wildlife and so forth- he loves Yellowstone and has been more times than he could count. He has had many adventures in yellowstone (one including being chased by an over aggressive buffalo and having to jump into a tree in order to escape it!!), and I consider him my own personal expert of the park. As you will notice he says that the old faithful eruption is the biggest one he has seen in awhile (though it's kinda hard to tell in the movie, esp since it's cold and it's hard to see anything but steam) so enjoy, if you've never seen this cool phenomenom that takes place every 50-90 minutes.

Videos of Sammie

The first one always makes me laugh. Jacob and I were playing a game (excuse the mess) and she got grumpy. Usually when she gets grumpy we can make her laugh and it comes out this mixed cry/laugh. The second one is just her blowing raspberries, like she loves to.

Bridal Veil Falls

A couple of weeks ago on a beautiful Sunday afternoon we headed up to Bridal Veil Falls!

This is Samantha playing in the grass in our front yard! It was soo long. Jacob and I are given a rent reduction May- October to keep the weeds down. They just kind of popped up all of a Sudden! Suddenly they were 2+ feet tall! We took some cute pictures then decided to get to work on it. Well the owners only supplied us with a weed wacker so it was a long and tedious process.

Jacob got out is his machete (spelling?) and went to town with it, while I used to weed wacker. A few hours later we finally finished. Last year they told us we could kill off the weeds if we wanted (there isn't any grass, just weeds), so we decided to do that this year, since we really don't have 3 hours to invest in removing weeds each weekend. We got some powerful weed killers and killed everything off. Now you can recognize our yard and it stands out a TON because it looks like it's July and hasn't seen water in months. Oh well!

Here are some more cute pictures of Samantha!

She looooves to just suck on apples!

Samantha figured out how to use a sippy cup and LOVES it and always soaks herself with it.

At night and nap time we give her her 'mousey' blanket and she grabs it and shoves her thumb in her mouth and goes to sleep without complaint! What a good girl!

She was smiling like this for about 2 weeks. We would look at her and smile and she would smile as big as she could until it turned into this!

Sometimes I don't really feel like I was cut out to be a mom. I just don't fit that well. Don't get me wrong, I love spending time with Samantha and know that I am so blessed to be able to stay home with her and teach her the things she needs to learn and raise her in the gospel, etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc. Judge and call me a bad mom if you want, but I think I'm going insane. is there not anyone else out there who feels like they are going completely CRAZY?! It is soooo monotonous. Get her up at 8, feed her, cuddle with her, play with her, sing to her and read to her (need I mention it's the same 10-30 children's songs and same 37 books we got off of E-bay?!), maybe go for a walk. Put her down for her nap, then clean, do laundry, try to think of something cool to make for dinner, clean, clean clean, maybe do my workout video, maybe read or scrapbook. Get her up at noon and repeat repeat repeat!!!!
I love my daughter- a LOT. I can't imagine sending her to a daycare where the people won't know what she likes and what she wants when she cries, etc. I love her too much to leave her, I do. But I am going crazy. I crave something new, I crave PEOPLE. I am a HUGE people person, I LOVE people, yes I do. Yes yes, I know, Samantha is a person, but she can't exactly talk, and even when she starts we will be talking about children things. I crave an adult conversation!!! The monotony and lack of people is getting sooo boring! What if I want to do something different than clean my house? I don't exactly LIKE to clean (I don't hate it either, thank goodness) Yes, yes, get a hobby. Hobbies... I have them. I love to scrapbook, and it makes me feel good, and I love being creative...but it's not something I want to do every single day. I enjoy reading, but one can only read so much before they feel blind! I like a few shows on TV, but not a whole ton, I like movies, but seriously can't remember the last time I felt like watching a movie during the day. What I am trying to say is... I want more people in my life. My husband just isn't enough. I love him with all of my heart, but I only get to see him after 8-10 LONG hours without him. those 8-10 hours 5 days a week without anyone to talk to are driving me crazy!!!

I know this was extremely pessimistic, and I'll probably even delete this tomorrow or in a few days because I will realize how embarrassed I am that I am being so negative, but oh well. And I also want to add.... Please don't leave any comments that will just make me feel more pitiful (ex: Oh nicole, don't worry it'll get better, the Lord is always there for you, I love you!) because I already know all of those things. yep.
