It's that Time Again.....

..Review Time!!!
First up:

WOW! is the first thing I want to say! These books remind me a BIT of the Hunger Games (and you all know how I love those!) but, don't worry it's not a copycat book- it was actually written BEFORE Hunger Games. It's been awhile since I read a book that I just HAD to keep reading!! I had heard from multiple people that the "Uglies" series was great, so I finally decided to try them out. All I knew about them when I started reading was that it was basically a world where everyone was beautiful, via operation. I figured it was the type of book that dealt with issues of image and all that. You know, the type of book Oprah would feature and have a discussion about! NOPE! I mean, the moral is basically be who you are and not what others want you to be but.... They are actually pretty action packed and fast paced (the second one more than the first). And I'm not talking about lame blow-up action, but good action. ALSO--- there is a nice side of romance, a little more than in Hunger Games, but not much. Anyway I have yet to read the third, but as soon as Sam gets up from her nap, we are going to go track it down!!!! Sidenote: don't go expecting something as amazing as The Hunger Games or you'll come up short, but take time to read it--- they really are good!

UMMMM my brain is fried and swirling with thoughts of Uglies, and I'm having a hard time concentrating on what else I've seen/read lately... but here's another:

Good movie! Not great. But good. Ummmm I don't usually have a lot to say about things fall in the "good" category.. I can't rave about it's amazingness, and I can't complain about how boring it was. Sooo there it is. Good. And a little creepy. I liked it for the most part.

This was a great book :) It wasn't exactly exciting or fast paced, but it was well- written enough that it held my attention and didn't bore me. It was sweet and made me smile and is one of those feel good books that makes you kinda tingle.. ya know?

(the movie)
Sooo cute! It only gets a good though. If I'd never seen The Notebook, it might get a good/great, but it's by the same author and has the same basic plot, so nothing new at all! But, still a cute movie. If you like cute movies that make you feel all lovey-dovey and sigh a lot you should enjoy it! OH and know how Nicholas Sparks books-made-into-movies often have *ahem* risque love scenes.... I'm not sure how risque this one got, I turned away. I can tell you it wasn't really all that long though. Just to warn those out there who care :)

Like I mentioned earlier, I'm feeling a little fuzzy with Uglies thoughts swirling around, so I'll probably do another review thing sometime soon when I can think more clearly!!

And also-- there is a bottle of honey mustard bbq sauce (yum!) sitting next to me that I was using a couple minutes ago, and on the back it says Great On: Pork, Beef, Chicken, Fish... uhhhh anyone ever tried bbq sauce on FISH? is it good??? let me know...........

Our poor little angel

Our sweet little girl is feeling pretty miserable! Please keep her in your prayers! She suddenly came down with a random cold yesterday (though the doc had predicted it the day before at her 18-month checkup). She has to have a breathing treatment with a nebulizer every few hours and steroids to help open up her lungs so she can breathe! This makes it sound pretty dramatic and she is ok, don't worry! Just miserable and could use some extra prayers! Thanks!

EDIT: Also, since I'm asking, any prayers directed the way of my father-in-law would be appreciated!!!

Bucks 4 Books

Bucks 4 Books is one of those places that advertises getting more back for your books than the bookstore offers. Jacob found out he could get $101 back for just his O-Chem stuff from the BYU bookstore, but decided to check out Bucks 4 Books to see what they would give him.... How much, you ask? $18 No joke. How lame is that?!!? Not even 1/5 of what BYU offers. Just thought I'd let everyone know so you don't waste your time!

18 months!

Today Samantha is officially 18 months old! :) She had her 18-month checkup and here are her stats (I don't think I've posted stats since she was 6 months!)

Weight: 22 lbs. 1 oz- 18%
Height : 32.5 inches- 76%
Head: 19 inches- 91%

Doc said I should try to get her to eat a little more (see mom!!!! told ya) She also had a SLIGHT fever of 100.2, so they wouldn't give her her shots :( we have to go back sometime next week for those. ohhh well.
Samantha is a pleasure to have around and is such a fun little girl! Lately she has been obsessed with her babies (dollies) she carries them around, kisses them, hugs them, sits them on the couch and tucks them in, pushes them around in her stroller, brushes their hair, tries to give them baths (succeeded once and made a HUGE mess), mixes them up fake bowls of food and feeds them. It really is adorable :) She has a nice sized vocabulary. Jacob and I tried to count today how many words she can say and came up with nearly 40, but there might be more we aren't thinking of. She is a total goofball and we love her so much!

A little somethin...

A few years ago before I was married, someone anonymously put homemade CDs on all of the apartment doors in the ward. It is AMAZING. I have had a great desire to share this with others, but couldn't figure out a way to post it as just a track. I spent a few hours and gathered pictures and put it to the words to create a video. It truly is amazing (not the pictures with it, but just the words/music). I know it's long, and you don't have to watch it, just listen while you are doing something else!! give it a try. I ask that you at least listen to the first 2 minutes before deciding to not listen! And it really only gets better as it goes on. I love to listen to it while we are getting ready for church in the morning. I ask you, I URGE you to just listen. It is the testimonies of some of our current prophets/apostles and some that have passed away.

This year was fun because we got to celebrate Easter with a toddler! We took her to an easter egg hunt bright and early and it was a lot of fun! There were sooo many people and soo much candy! It was a little disappointing to see how greedy many of the parents were.. Instead of being ages 0-3 it kinda seemed like a free for all for some of the adults, but we still enjoyed ourselves and Samantha had fun picking her eggs and candy! :)
Before it started- look at all that!
Waiting for the hunt to start-- can you tell we are ICE cold?!!

Look at this picture closely... Samantha looks so funny!

We had a wonderful 2 days listening to Conference, dying eggs, going on walks, I made eggplant Parmesan for dinner... It was my first time ever eating or cooking with eggplant and it turned out soooooooooo good. mmmm! We've enjoyed being able to spend some extra time together, it's been really great. This year we got the "Monster" easter egg dying kit... here are our cute little monsters!
