Politically correct

I officially dislike blogging. I was going to write a post about a great new pair of jeans that I just got, but didn't want to offend anyone with some comments that might not be politically correct for me to say. Do you know how stupid that is? Nothing I was planning on saying is the slightest bit offensive. What to do?? Speak my mind anyway? Make the blog private? Give up blogging? Use blogging strictly as an activity/ update log? What are your thoughts? Does anyone else ever run into this problem? Anyone else feel like they can't speak their mind because they might say something that might offend someone?

PS- if you've got a curvy rear end and a smaller waist go try the Levi's curve ID jeans!! I was hesitant to try them because when I think Levi's I think cowboy, but I got a really cute pair of skinnies that actually fit my rear AND my waist, and that actually cover my rear end when I bend over AND they are low rise!

Thank for the jeans info - that sounds like exactly what I need! :)

I always worried about offending people (among other things) so I went private. But honestly I love reading blogs when people just say what they think. It makes for better reading haha :) So I say to speak your mind

I've run into that problem a lot actually. I want to write about something that has been bugging me or some random thing that I don't get. I get it all written and have Charles read it and he'll be like "are trying to offend people?" like once I wanted to write my opinion on vaccinations and another time on a certain pair of shoes that is a big trend but I don't like but sadly I can't. Some people can be super touchy and I don't want to offend someone. I don't know what the right answer is to this question. If you figure it out let me know.

Gah! I totally know what you mean. For the most part if someone visits my blog they are subject to my opinions (we all know I am quite the hippy these days, which upsets some people), but when it comes to some things I totally get what you mean. Even if you were private, unless it was only open to yourself, you'd have to worry about others opinions. :( The thing I like about blogging is that sometimes you say how you feel and others can respond and tell you about how they can relate. And some how that ability to relate is helpful. When you can't state how you feel then you might as well write in your journal, which is so NOT fun and takes MUCH longer than typing... Basically I am in the same boat. It is frustrating. But now I am curious, so you can email me about it. :) And I am passing that jean info on to a friend of mine.

I LOVE when people blog about their feelings! LOVE IT! If you haven't noticed I basically say whatever I want on my blog. I think it is better to stand out than blend in with the crowd. Of course there is a fine line between having opinions and being rude, but i have never found your posts rude in the slightest. I like posts that get me thinking and are informative! Blog away!

You hate blogging? I only started a blog because of you...

I say speak you're mind. That's what I do most of the time and if someone gets offended they are choosing to be offended and if you need to get it off your chest then put it out there.

Say what you want to say! Its YOUR blog! And I'll read it even if you offend every other person on the planet:)

Love it! Glad you found some jeans you love!

And I think you just have WAY too opinionated friends if you are thinking about not posting!! That's so sad!

Don't EVER stop blogging because of someone else. It is a journal! A history of what you and your family are doing currently! It's irreplaceable. And Obviously you could journal more privately if you would like--but I personally like doing it on the blog because I LIKE communicating to others and letting them know what I think and what we are up to! :) So...I would say only stop if it is affecting you negatively or just "getting in the way" and you aren't enjoying it anymore! Otherwise, ignore what anyone else says or thinks! They can have their opinion but I hope nobody would be directly rude to you! :) You don't deserve it. It's YOUR BLOG!!! :) (Delete their comments if you get them and don't like them!) ;)

Nicole! I love all your posts!! I always write whatever I think on my blog. I think if they want to read my blog, they want to know what I think. :)

My thoughts on blogging...
I find myself sensoring sometimes too. (Usually a cuss word or two.) In my case I'm usually happier that I didn't put it in (since we print our blog out and bind it into a book every year), but generally, I speak my mind. It's turned into a space where I can document our life, and a great deal of the time I complain, but IT's MY BLOG!!! I don't blog for other people. I blog for myself and my family, so if other's want to join our journey, great...if not, great. I don't agree with everything I read on other's blogs, but I LOVE the diversity of it all....
happy blogging. :)
